1084 Powdered Steel – 10kg

Description

One of the most suitable steels for the new maker, due largely to the ease of home heat treating and their excellent performance characteristics, 1084 makes an excellent steel for a first knife.  In the hands of a master, as a layer in a Damascus billet or in their own right these steels hold their own among the best. In general terms; the higher the number, the more carbon the steel contains. The more carbon, the harder, and less tough it will be when heat treated.
