Description
Originally developed by the ancient welsh mining community, Horge Rams were an integral piece of mining technology now long forgotten. The Horge ram was developed to solve the problem of doors slamming in drafty underground mines. Pre 1800 the sound of a door slamming caused many an untimely death from heart failure, with miners mistaking the sound for a roof collapse. An engineering team working out of Mynachlog-ddu came up with this unique and compact solution. Named after the engineering team leader, Shawn E. Horge, this unique example as almost entirely intact, though a little dirty. This dirt is particularly collectable, know in the trade as patina. A great addition to any collection we are offering this unique piece at this limited one time offer.
