Description
This Mild Steel Powder is 300 PLUS grade mild steel, typically found as hot-rolled structural steel. It is not hardenable as supplied, but would be suitable for making decorative canister damascus, or as the base material if you want to try doing your own steel smelt.
Available in both “Fine” and “Mixed” powder to suit your application.
Alloy Composition
Carbon (C) 0.25% | Manganese (Mn) 1.60% | Silicon (Si) 0.5% | Phosphorus (P) 0.04% | Sulfur (S) 0.04%
Please note: This powder will NOT make a hardenable steel when forged, and is not suitable for use in blades or hardened tools. It CAN be smelted with added carbon to create a hardenable alloy.
